What’s New For 2021
The YXZ1000R has a FOX top shelf 2.5 RC2 podium with an adjustable dual-spring-rate crossover. Crossover adjustment, rebound, and low-speed compression damping — with a massive 16.2-inch front travel and 17.0 inches at the back along with quality, tuneability, and outstanding travel handling.
The YXZ1000R is not only standard with Yamaha’s well-known reputation for reliability, but it is also assembled in the US and engineered with a wide selection of factory accessories, so you can customize the YXZ1000R to your needs and know it will not only meet but exceed your expectations for years to come.
Designed to carry Pure Sport equestrian characters like no other in the world side by side, the YXZ1000R engine is built to provide high revving power with flexibility and character that can only be provided by triple inline. A compact, balanced, 11.3:1 ratio and dry-sump lubrication, the YXZ1000R engine offers exceptional power, a thrilling 10,500 rpm red line, and high-strength internals ready to handle high output demands.
2021 Yamaha YXZ1000R Performances
To ensure peak performance on each trip, the YXZ1000R features a ventilated radiator and is mounted at the back. The system not only reduces heat in the cab but stays clean from mud or debris buildup and is designed to channel cold air through radiators at low or high speeds at equally good speeds.
No one in the adjoining world can cool the feeling of banging through gears using the YXZ1000R’s sequential five-speed manual transmission. The hydraulically-actuated clutch system is operated by foot pedals for light, consistent feel while providing up to 20% more power-efficient than most automated CVTs. The YXZ1000R has more flexibility to handle almost any type of trail from wide-open desert trails to first gear crawls.
2021 Yamaha YXZ1000R Engine
Each machine needs to breathe clean air and exhale as efficiently as possible. YXZ’s high capacity intake system features a dual air filter—one oily foam, one viscous paper—for maximum airflow to the engine as well as long-lasting filtration for the dirtiest driving environments.
The three-to-one high volume exhaust system weighing the weight distribution and is tuned to provide maximum power across the entire rotation range.
The YXZ1000R has a FOX top shelf 2.5 RC2 podium with an adjustable dual-spring-rate crossover. Spring preload, crossover adjustment, high-speed and low-speed compression rebound, and damping—with a massive 16.2-inch front travel and 17.0 inches at the back along with quality, to tuneability, and outstanding travel handling.
The YXZ1000R is the best side-by-side handling sport on the planet— period. The YXZ1000R strikes corners with agility, light steering feel, and straight-line stability across the roughest terrain.
The Spherical-joint double A-arms maintain an ideal distance angle and bump response throughout the travel range, and the front and rear sway bars minimize body roll for flatter, more responsive cornering. And under optimized frame geometry, full-frame composite slip plates protect against rocks and debris.
The YXZ1000R offers superior braking control thanks to twin-piston calipers clamping a large 255mm rotor at the front and a 245mm rotor at the rear for excellent braking power, feel, and fade-resistance under hard use. An automotive-style parking brake lever is installed in the center console of the cab.
high back with extra lateral support and outer shoulder roll and the cockpit provides a balance of driving confidence with comfort.
The YXZ1000R has instruments inspired by Yamaha’s high-performance supersport motors. Functions include digital speedometers, analog tachometer, and programmable shift lights with readings for 4WD mode, gear position, fuel level, travel meter, clock meter, cooling temperature warning, and clock.
While the high-end FOX suspension on the YXZ1000R is primarily focused on maximizing the adjustment range for different terrains, the same adjustment range also adds flexibility. With a few quick tweaks, the YXZ1000R can be tuned in to provide a luxurious and smooth ride that defies the idea that sports and comfort can’t coexist.
Yamaha continues to build industry-leading engines praised for its reliability and durability without their peers. The YXZ1000R features fits and finishes, components, and constructions designed to make every trip exceptional.
Four super bright and long-term LED headlights provide brilliant advanced illumination and give the YXZ1000R a creepy sense of style, with bright LED backlights for extra visibility.
Bring what you need thanks to a 300-pound cargo rack. The glove box in the cab provides additional storage as does the passenger side cup holder and the central storage tray on the dashboard.
Developed with the YXZ1000R are a range of accessories including audio options, lighting, and performance enhancement kits — all of which are standard with Yamaha engineering expertise. The YXZ1000R is also compatible with Adventure Pro, Yamaha’s exclusive GPS system that focuses on traces.
