2021 Honda Talon 1000×4 Engine
Sports side-by-side requires strength, and you are sure to find the new Talon 1000X-4 offers a lot. This fluid inline Twin on the 999cc in Talon delivers the kind of strong torque and fast-revving horsepower you would expect from a superior Sport model, but also responsive in lower revs and in the critical midrange. The longitudinal Set in the chassis and managed by the Honda’s sophisticated PGM-FI mapping system engine, it delivers the kind of improvements no other side-by-side can match.
The fluid inline Twin from The Talon 999cc uses the same UNICAM® cylinder head design found in our championship-winning Motocrosser CRF450R. It helps make the machine more compact, which allows us to position for optimal weight distribution and ground clearance.
The Roller-TIP rocker arm in the Talon train valve helps reduce engine friction, facilitating higher revs, faster, and contributing to more efficient engine operation and power. Those other examples of Honda narrowing you may not see, but that you will feel with every trip.

The Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve features FOX Live Valve suspension with a 2.5-inch shock on all four wheels. The system adjusts the attenuation on each shock independently, automatically, and up to 16 times per second for superior driving quality and less Pitch and rollover all terrain.
CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION
The Talons feature special, long-wheelbase, and high-performance chassis that form the base for superior handling and stability. From there we add long-independent travel front and rear suspension and cheap ground clearance. The Talon 1000X-4 got a premium, FOX podium 2.0 shock in front, and 2.5 shocks out back (with a quick QS3 adjust at the Four Corners), while the Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve featured our new FOX Live Valve suspension with 2.5 front and rear shocks.
At Talons, the Honda 3-link trailing-ARM rear suspension is one of the secrets of their superior handling. Both feature 15 inches of travel rear wheels for seamless travel and superior control.
Only available on the Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve, this shock combines FOX automatically-adjusting Live Valve technology. Shocks continue to alter their compression damping (each shock independently, in real-time). You get a little roll in the corners, smooth ride through obstacles, and more resistant to bottoming-Deluxe travel overall.
The Talon 1000X-4 FOX features a podium 2.0 shock in front and 2.5 shocks in the back, all with a fast adjust QS3. The organizer is intuitive, with three different settings that make it easy to tune your suspension to your terrain or driving style.
High-performance side-by-side needs high-performance brakes. The power of Talon, chassis, and suspension travel helps take side-by-side to the next level. Their front and rear discs feature 250mm, with 34mm twin-piston caliper in front and a 34mm Single-piston caliber in the rear.
The electronic Brakeforce distribution (EBD) optimizes front and rear braking power under a dynamic chassis condition in a two-wheel drive.
The dual A-ARM suspension gives you 14.6 inches (14.4 inches-FOX Live Valve) travel on the front. The couple are with a land star permit and you start to understand two reasons why Talons handles well and is very comfortable in rough terrain.

And easy to use: Just hold the brakes, press the Launch mode button, hold both paddle shifter back, Floor The Accelerator, and remove The paddle. The Talons features a stadium seat for rear passengers: compared to their seat front seats are set almost three inches higher and two inches closer to each other, which gives the passengers a much better field of view.
