2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS USA Review
To facilitate overall feel and handling and boost rider confidence, Kodiak 700 EPS combines large-bore performance with a more compact body design commonly found in medium-sized ATVs.
Heavy-duty steel cargo racks can pack a total of 308 pounds combined while a 2-inch receiver comes standard to attract more than 1,300 pounds.
Reduced fatigue, excellent control, and trace feel are all standard with the most speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS) in the Kodiak 700 EPS industry.
2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700 EPS Features
High Performance :
Kodiak 700 EPS‘ Ultramatic® transmission is equipped with a fenced shifter drive, dual-range (Hi/Lo) plus reverse gear, and the most advanced and durable CVT drive system. The automatic centrifugal clutch maintains a constant belt tension to reduce belt wear and the sprained clutch provides natural all-wheel engine braking.
Big Bore Machine :
Packing practical, fun, and usable power, the Kodiak 700 EPS engine balances large bore power with a powerful midrange. Kodiak 700 EPS features a 686cc motor with optimized torque, power delivery, and fun and exciting characters on the track while staying smooth and quiet while exploring or working on the job site.
All by pressing a simple key, the three-position On-Command system® 4WD lets you switch between a 2WD, a limited-slip 4WD, and a fully locked 4WD differential. The override button allows the engine to reach maximum rpm in full diff lock mode, and the straight driveshaft layout eliminates U-joints to reduce friction, noise, vibration, and maintenance.
Installed High Air Intake:
Overcome mud and water thanks to Kodiak 700 EPS high air intake layout. The design increases power and torque while providing additional space for on-board storage and easy, toolless service from foam air filters.
To maintain years of clean-running performance, Kodiak 700 EPS uses a stainless steel exhaust system and is equipped with a screen-type spark arrestor for large power with minimum noise output.
High Capacity Radiator:
Slow-speed technical riding can place a lot of thermal demands on liquid-cooled motors, so the Kodiak 700 EPS features a high-capacity radiator that provides plenty of airflow for maximum cooling efficiency.
Ground Clearance Countermeasures:
To handle almost any terrain with ease, Kodiak 700 EPS offers an impressive 10.8-inch maximum ground clearance and full-length composite slip plate for maximum underbelly protection.
Front and Rear Suspension:
The independent double-wishbone suspension, with a 7.1″ front-wheel drive and 9.1″ at the rear, provides excellent rider comfort even on the toughest lanes, thanks to shocks with an adjustable 5-way preload.
Class-Leading Power Steering:
Minimize fatigue and attack every angle with Yamaha Electric Power Steering (EPS), the industry’s best balance of electric steering assistance, and positive trail feedback.
Underseat Fuel Tank:
The optimized 4.76-gallon fuel tank is located under the seat for excellent centralization and mass handling.
With plenty of room for riders to move around during driving, low seats improve rider comfort and simplify installation and disconnection. Despite its full-size performance, the Kodiak 700 EPS features a more compact body design similar to a medium-sized ATV for easy overall feel and handling.
Paired headlights ensure good visibility while handlebar-mounted halogen work lights provide additional moving illumination with rider input for added flexibility.
Ready for Accessories:
Kodiak 700 EPS is engineered along with a variety of accessories for perfect fit and functionality for almost every type of trip you can find. With a standard 12V power point, you can also keep your device charged.
Wide Cargo Capacity:
Large diameter steel cargo racks with durable wrinkle paint finishes can pack a combined total of 308 pounds (110 lbs. front, 198 lbs. rear). On-board storage compartments also keep everything dry.
Work Ready Crane Capacity:
The mid-mounted heavy-duty 2-inch receiver comes standard on Kodiak 700 EPS and can pull in more than 1,300 pounds.
Assembled in the US:
Like other Yamaha ATVs and Side-by-Sides, the Kodiak 700 EPS is assembled in the US to meet Yamaha’s exact standards for durability and reliability.
